Nattering about knitting

I have really enjoyed rediscovering knitting, and am slowly starting a knitting revolution at work (well one person so far, but its a start). I have known how to knit, purl, increase and decrease for many years, but over the past couple of weeks I have discovered how to:

  • knit a buttonhole (and not just knit a hole by accident)
  • read a knitting chart and symbols
  • knit lace stitches
  • block a piece of knitting

A couple of weeks ago I met a friend for lunch at Spitalfields Market and accidentally came away with some impulse purchases. First was some handspun cashmere wool I knitted into arm-warmers for myself (it was too soft to give to anyone else!) and then I found some metal stamps I couldn’t resist. One was some knitting needles and a ball of yarn, and the other will be revealed later…
